Doc’s Mission

I am a practicing board certified emergency physician and a staunch patient advocate.

Patients today are curious about their health care. And why shouldn’t they be? There’s a plethora of information all over the internet. But trust for the medical establishment, including doctors, has gone down a lot in recent years.

That’s why I created this site. I want patients like you to be informed. I want to empower you to make the best healthcare choices. Then you will be better suited to understand your risk for medical problems and the options that exist to help you.

I want healthcare choices to be a do-what’s-best-for-the-patient-first philosophy, not what’s best for the hospital and certainly not the pharmaceutical companies or insurance companies. It’s time that we stood up for patients.

Though I am an emergency physician by training and still practicing in the emergency department, I advocate for healthcare decisions that benefit you, the patient.

Doc On A Mission comes from my passion to give patients like you information that you do not always learn from our healthcare system. Believe me, I love my job and marvel at the amazing accomplishments we’ve made in acute and preventive care. But there’s so much more to tell.

We need to think outside of the box and challenge the status quo in order for medicine to provide better care. I hope you enjoy the posts and would love any and all comments to continually improve the content.
